Itinerary

This is a sample route. The final journey can be adjusted based on your flight dates, hotel preference, walking level, and travel style.

Day 1: Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your private guide will welcome you. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, and settle into the peaceful rhythm of the kingdom.

Begin your Bhutan journey with a hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of the country’s most iconic spiritual landmarks. This day also helps with acclimatisation before the trek. After the hike, return to Paro for rest and trek preparation.

After breakfast, drive towards the trek starting area. Meet the trekking crew and begin the first section of the trail through river valleys, forest paths, and traditional rural landscapes. Overnight camping begins from this stage.

Continue trekking through peaceful forest trails, following rivers and natural paths deeper into Bhutan’s wilderness. The day introduces you to the rhythm of trekking, with gradual climbs, fresh mountain air, and quiet campsites.

The trail continues into higher mountain landscapes, with wider valley views and chances to see distant snow-capped peaks. As the route opens up, the scenery becomes more dramatic, with alpine meadows and highland grazing areas.

Spend the day walking at a gentler pace to adjust to the altitude. Depending on weather and trail conditions, this day may include a short exploration hike, mountain viewpoints, or time around camp to enjoy the surrounding landscapes.

Continue towards the Soi Yaksa area, crossing scenic mountain terrain and yak grazing lands. This section is one of the highlights of the journey, offering a strong sense of wilderness, open valleys, and Himalayan beauty.

Spend the day trekking through the beautiful Soi Yaksa landscape. The route may include high passes, meadows, rivers, and wide views of the surrounding peaks. The walking can be more challenging, but the scenery makes it one of the most rewarding parts of the trek.

Begin descending through changing landscapes, moving from high alpine areas back towards forested valleys. The trail offers a final chance to enjoy remote campsites, mountain views, and Bhutan’s quiet trekking environment.

Finish the final trekking section and meet your vehicle for the drive back to Paro. After several days on the trail, enjoy a hot shower, comfortable hotel stay, and a relaxed evening in town.

Enjoy a flexible cultural day after the trek. Depending on your interest, you can explore Paro’s temples, visit the National Museum, travel to Thimphu for sightseeing, or simply rest and enjoy a slower day after the trekking journey.

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your onward flight. Depart Bhutan with memories of mountain trails, remote camps, Himalayan views, and a rewarding trekking adventure.
