DAY BY DAY PLAN

Itinerary

This is a sample route. The final journey can be adjusted based on your flight dates, hotel preference, walking level, and travel style.

Day 1: Arrival in Paro

Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your guide will welcome you. Transfer to your hotel and take the rest of the day at a relaxed pace. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore Paro town or visit a nearby cultural site.

Spend the day exploring Paro Valley’s cultural highlights. Visit Paro Dzong, the National Museum, Kyichu Lhakhang, and local landmarks that introduce Bhutan’s history, spirituality, and traditional architecture.

This day also allows time to prepare for the trek and adjust to Bhutan’s altitude.

Travel to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, for a full day of cultural sightseeing. Visit Buddha Dordenma, the National Memorial Chorten, local markets, traditional craft centres, and other important landmarks.

Return to Paro in the evening or stay overnight depending on the final route arrangement.

Begin the Bumdra Trek with a drive to the trailhead near Paro. The walk gradually climbs through pine forests, prayer flags, and mountain paths, offering beautiful views along the way.

Continue towards Bumdra, the “Cave of a Thousand Prayers,” and settle into your campsite above Paro Valley. Enjoy the peaceful mountain setting, open skies, and quiet atmosphere of the highland camp.

Wake up to fresh mountain air and beautiful valley views. After breakfast at camp, begin descending through scenic trails towards Tiger’s Nest Monastery.

Visit the sacred cliffside monastery, one of Bhutan’s most iconic spiritual landmarks, before continuing down to the valley. Transfer back to your hotel in Paro for rest and a comfortable evening after the trek.

Enjoy a relaxed day in Paro after the trek. You may explore Paro town, visit local shops, enjoy a hot stone bath, try traditional archery, or add a light cultural experience.

This day can also be used as a flexible buffer day in case of weather changes during the trek.

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your onward flight. Depart Bhutan with memories of forest trails, mountain camp, sacred sites, and the unforgettable Tiger’s Nest experience.
