DAY BY DAY PLAN
Itinerary
This is a sample route. The final journey can be adjusted based on your flight dates, hotel preference, walking level, and travel style.
Day 1: Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where your private guide will welcome you. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, and settle into the peaceful rhythm of the kingdom.
Day 2: Thimphu Cultural Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural highlights. Visit traditional craft centres, monasteries, museums, viewpoints, and local landmarks that introduce Bhutanese life and heritage.
In the afternoon, your guide will brief you on the trek route, walking conditions, packing needs, and the plan for the following days.
Day 3: Begin the Sinchula Trek
After breakfast, drive to the trek starting point and begin walking along forested trails and old village paths. The route gradually leads through peaceful woodland, prayer flags, ridgelines, and quiet natural surroundings.
This first trekking day is gentle and scenic, allowing you to settle into the rhythm of walking while enjoying Bhutan’s fresh mountain air.
Day 4: Forest Trails, Ridgelines, and Valley Views
Continue along the Sinchula route, passing through mossy forests, fern-lined paths, pine woods, and open sections with views across the valleys.
The landscape slowly changes as you move from cooler forest areas towards warmer valley terrain. Along the way, you may pass small settlements, quiet viewpoints, and places that reflect Bhutan’s traditional rural life.
Day 5: Complete the Trek and Departure or Extension
Complete the final section of the trek and meet your vehicle for the onward drive. Depending on the final route, you may continue towards Punakha, return to Thimphu, or transfer back to Paro.
Travellers with more time can extend the journey with Punakha sightseeing, Tiger’s Nest Monastery, or additional cultural experiences before departure.
