Your Journey Begins Before You Arrive

Every detail of the road to Bhutan is part of the retreat. From your first enquiry to the moment you land in the Paro valley.

Where Every Trail Tells a Story and Every Smile Feels Like Home.

Visa

First, the paper work

Every visitor to Bhutan travels with a licensied operator, which means your visa is arranged on your behalf. Once your retreat is booked, our team prepares your documents, and approval typically lands in your inbox within a few working days.

Getting Here

Choose Your Way In

Bhutan’s mountains shape how you arrive and how you move once you’re here. We handle the logistics, but it helps to know what’s ahead.

Over the Air

Drukair and Bhutan Airlines fly direct from Bangkok, Kathmandu, Delhi, Kolkata, Dhaka and Singapore. The descent into the valley is one of the most striking landings in the world — a window seat is worth requesting.

Through the Land

Travelling from India, you can enter at Phuentsholing in the west, Gelephu in the central south, or Samdrup Jongkhar in the east. Your driver and guide will be waiting for you at the border.

Once you're here

A private vehicle and driver travel with you for the length of your stay. Self-driving isn’t permitted in Bhutan, so settle in, and let the road do the work while you take in the view.

Travel etiquette

Travel mindfully

Bhutan’s customs are gentle, but they matter. A little awareness goes a long way toward being welcomed warmly wherever your retreat takes you.

Dress modestly at sacred sites — covered shoulders and knees, shoes off at the door.

Keep your voice low inside temples, monasteries and shrine rooms.

Ask before photographing monks, ceremonies, or anyone at prayer.

Leave shrines untouched — statues, thrones and offerings are not for handling.

Remove hats before entering temples or greeting elders.

Greet with a smile — “kuzu zangpo la” goes further than you’d expect.
